System-Wide Strategic Planning
ACA takes a holistic approach with our clients to understand the organizational vision and work collaboratively to develop a strategic plan that advances their mission and supports their long-term goals.
An organization’s GME vision may evolve over time due to factors such as changes in market positioning, evolving strategic priorities, enhanced service line development, community needs and economic stability.
ACA collaborates with your organization to conduct a comprehensive review and evaluation of the current Graduate Medical Education (GME) environment. This assessment allows us to design a future strategy that aligns with the new vision, mitigates regulatory risks, addresses community health needs, and enhances the value of GME across the enterprise.

This evaluation encompasses an assessment of the organization's GME operational model and governance structure, faculty contracting and practice performance, program complement, funding sources, and quality metrics to formulate recommendations that support growth and sustainability.
Organizations may face financial constraints that affect performance due to CMS cap-related limitations, PRAs that were inadvertently set to low and limited Medicare/Medicaid patient volumes. Faculty expense is one of the largest components of GME costs. A combination of an overabundance of faculty with unproductive contracts, and ineffective clinic scheduling leads to an unstable economic viability.
